Trip to Niebla

Niebla is located in the province of Huelva, in Andalusia. It is the capital of the historical County of Niebla in the old Kingdom of Seville, the County during the first, second and third Taifa Kingdoms it was the centre for the Taifa of Niebla, now days it has a population of 4000 inhabitants, it is situated 45 above sea level and it geographic coordinates are 37º 21' N, 6º 40' O. 

Niebla had several names: The Tartessians called it Ilípula, the Romans Ilipla, the Visigoths Elepla, the muslins Lebla and the Castilians Niebla. The origins of this town dates back to the Iron Age, having numerous remains in its surroundings from the Neolithic, there are also necropolis with dolmens ( The Dolmen of Soto and of the la Juesca). 

In antiquity they had connections with the Phoenicians thank to mining and the fact that the Rio Tinto river was navigable right to the very doors of the city. In roman times the old roman road that connected the Guadiana river mouth with Italica. The town has an important historical heritage. In regards to its monuments they are worthy of note old Roman Bridge (quite reformed), the Church of La Granada, which is a little and humble building of roman origin raised on top of what was the main mosque of Niebla and it is of gothic mudejar style which preserve some vestiges of the old paleochristian cathedral like the old episcopal chair. There are also the remains of the Church of San Martin, a damage basilica when the Lisbon earthquake and the Castle of Guzmanes, an architectural work of roman origin which has suffered many reforms by its successive occupants: Visigoth, Arabs and Christians.

My experience in photography goes back a long time, before I studied architecture at Sydney University, which were I did a formal technical training in the field. I did theory and practice, I was able to do developing of photography the old fashion way and I gained and deep understanding of the practice and theoretical aspect of it.

First of all I do enjoy photography for the sake of it although I take the subject very seriously but one must take pleasure in what he or she does, secondly I believe every situation deserve an specific approach to it, I do not stop learning, I love to do know new things and I like to experiment in photography whenever it is possible, having said that the years of experience have giving me a working method, which I may alter if suitable.

I have studied photography at Sydney University, and I have worked and collaborated with Seville local media groups specialling in the local festivities such as the hollyweek, amongst them were, “Pasion in Sevilla”, and “Semana Santa de Sevilla TV” I also run my own site for this photos called “A Paso Mudá”.
