Mina Concepción in Río Tinto

Mina Concepción is a mining exploitation in the Rio Tinto area which was originally mined by the Tartessians, Phoenicians and later the Romans, in modern times the production started in 1853 and in 1860 the property is sale to the Ibarra y Cía. Family from Seville, and after a few years of work they will sell it to a British firm that already bought the nearby mine Poderosa, this company was United Alkali Ltd whom were part of the imperial Chemicals Ltd, a company of chemical products controlling the majority of chemical products in the United kingdom.

This is a very interesting area with lots of industrial remnants, incredible colours, and interesting shapes in the landscape and with a romantic touch to it, remote and lonely. Around here we can see the Odiel Bridge as well.

My experience in photography goes back a long time, before I studied architecture at Sydney University, which were I did a formal technical training in the field. I did theory and practice, I was able to do developing of photography the old fashion way and I gained and deep understanding of the practice and theoretical aspect of it.

First of all I do enjoy photography for the sake of it although I take the subject very seriously but one must take pleasure in what he or she does, secondly I believe every situation deserve an specific approach to it, I do not stop learning, I love to do know new things and I like to experiment in photography whenever it is possible, having said that the years of experience have giving me a working method, which I may alter if suitable.

I have studied photography at Sydney University, and I have worked and collaborated with Seville local media groups specialling in the local festivities such as the hollyweek, amongst them were, “Pasion in Sevilla”, and “Semana Santa de Sevilla TV” I also run my own site for this photos called “A Paso Mudá”.
